Durban Poison® is a classic strain by the seed bank Dutch Passion. It's resistant to extreme temperatures, both cold and warm. This sativa-dominant plant is native to South Africa and came to Holland in the mid-70's where it has been crossed for many years. In this way, it has been adapted to the climate conditions of Northern Europe. In this process, some unknown indica strains have been used to cross it with the original Durban. The sativa genetics can only be appreciated in the end. Durban Poison plants feature a long flowering with thin-edged leaves. Plants are full of resin in pinky tones.
Indoors, it is useful to plant from seedlings and directly at 12h. On the contrary, it won't become too large. It'll take between 60 to 80 days to flower. We can also grow from seed, growing it for just one or two weeks. Another option would be to use a SCRoG technique. A net can be grown during the growing stage, allowing the plant to spread over it before setting it to flower. It's not a strain particularly indicated for indoor growing. However, experienced growers would be able to get the most of it. Production is very high and we're able to get 400g per m2 under the lamps.
It's outdoors where this strain grows best. Planted in real soil can reach easily 2-3m in height. Their roots grow super fast. You'll have to give them all the space they need. This means that if we sow this plant in a pot we'll have to transplant it quickly. We recommend choosing as big as possible a final pot.
When planted in March, directly in the ground, we can easily reap 600g of dried buds. It'll be ready for harvesting by the end of September or beginning of October. This plant exhibits a nice but not excessive ramification. A good pruning and proper fertilization can increase the final yield.
Durban Poisson tastes like anise. It's very sweet and slightly hot, typical of sativa Haze plants. We find tones that remind of liquorice and also release a similar aroma. Its white and dense smoke will spread over your home. The effect is powerful and psychoactive. It's very characteristic of Thai strains. It'll give you a very stimulating and invigorating cerebral effect. It'll make you feel like empathizing and talking to anyone.
