When you use unclean objects or knives that haven’t been disinfected to do any sort of incision to your plants, they can easily get sick and then become infected by fungi, rot, and possibly die off.

Whenever you want to get cuttings from a plant you’re going to need a sharp instrument such as this scalpel, which has a very precise and clean cut – this will allow your plant to heal over nicely without breaking any important cell walls. It also improves rooting of the resulting clone.

You’ll need to keep it clean and safe, as if you keep it in humid areas it can oxidize and turn a dirty orange color, meaning that you definitely won’t want to use it again.

The handle is made out of plastic and the knife itself is made out of steel, making for a cheaper product that does the same job. You can buy one on its own or a box of 10 – if you use them a lot, you can save quite a lot of money buying the box of 10.

Each scalpel is 14cm long and 1cm wide. The knife is at the tip of the scalpel and it can be from 2.5 to 3cm long. It’s perfect for taking cuttings in order to give your mother plants clean cuts.
