If you want to create a curve with your hose, 90° elbows will make it very easy for you. All you have to do is set this elbow and avoid pinching of folding the tube by bending it, which usually results in the reduction of flow rate.
When we use elbows, curved sections are smoother and water runs through them better. Since friction is less important, water pumps don't need to work so hard and their service-life is increased.
No tool is required to install the elbow. All you have to do is press-fit the elbow in the 16mm hose.
